Pula 3 v2.0: End of the Line Update


This is the final MAJOR update for Pula 3. The game is now done and it is time to move on to the next project.

New Project:

-Last Desire (Originally Pula 4) is the new focus, further details will be revealed when Alpha 1.0 Releases

Highlights (Since Demo 3):

-Unlocked Arcade Mode

-Added 2 NEW Classes



LIST OF ALL CHANGES SINCE V1.5.1:

Graphics:

-All Ball Men have been redesigned with new animated sprites

-All Brik Men have been redesigned with new animated sprites

-Added a new visual effect when a SPECIAL is active

-Remade the look for the AR2

-Added roofs to all buldings

-Added more foliage to some levels

-More things now cast shadows ingame (Road Signs, Servers, Weapons)

Major Changes:

-There is now 8-Way movement (you can move diagonally)

-The Pause menu no longer pauses the game. It is now the tactical menu

-Remade the Text Box that is more detailed and represents the new sprites

-New Enemy AI that hunts the player down when spotted

-New Ally AI that follows the player if they are too far away

-You can now control the camera with your mouse movements

Tactical Menu:

-You have access to the same options as paused menu as well as:

-Request Info (You get detailed statistics of the current battle situation)

Story Mode:

-Opened up all levels to make the game feel more open world

-While the Game is paused you will now see what your current objective is

-Overhauled the healing mechanic, making it more subtle and weaker

-You always have a respawns limit in all levels now

-Checkpoints no longer heal and recover your SPECIAL

-Added an Enemy limit to all levels so that if you're afk the game doesn't overload

-Matt's SPECIAL now lasts a lot shorter but recovers quicker

-Classic Pula levels have been changed so everyone has a health bar and a respawn limit

-However healing is disabled in Classic Pula levels (you heal with HP kits like in arcade)

-Added HP Kits to levels (Like in Arcade Mode)

-Added Energy Kits to secluded parts of levels (Energy Kits restore all SPECIAL's to 100%)

-Many checkpoints in Classic Pula levels have been replaced with Large HP kits

-New Fade out animation for Chapter Text

-Combined many levels into one large one which makes for a smoother experience

-Your HP is now displayed on the character like in Arcade Mode

-Some level transitions have a fade to black, instead of an instant weird switch

-in the last level of UA Chapter, after a little while some extra allies will come to help

-Added an extra bit of dialouge at the UA Chapter so the jump to SO isn't so abrupt

-Characters that arent currently being played are darkened on the HUD to make it more obvious which charater is not selected

-SO Chapter has been completely remade:

    -It is now set during the sunset with an orange atmosphere

    -You must infiltrate the mansion from the side before our reinforcements run out

    -New music theme for the level by Caspi

-New levels now have a fade in and out effect instead of an abrupt change

-All levels in 2nd War chapter have been tweaked to be more open and better paced

-Many dialouges in Act 2 have been shortened

-Added Health Crates and 1 extra life to compensate for harder difficulty

-1st Prolouge shoot-out and the main shootout in Act II now require 30 Kills instead of 40

-Act II Bossfight has been nerfed since the healing is nerfed

-Act II Bossfight respawns have been buffed from 3 to 5

-Expanded and remade all Act III levels with a more detailed look

-Final Boss's teleporting has been converted from a bug into a feature

-New v2.0 HUD

-In Frontlines: you now have 3 minutes instead of 10 to find mark,

-HOWEVER, the 3 minute timer resets after every checkpoint

-Expanded and remade all Act III levels with a more detailed look

-Shortened a lot of dialouge

-Nerfed the Act III bossfight because of the smaller player HP

-New Act III Designs for Connor and Pula Man

Arcade Mode:

-Added 2 NEW Classes the "Charger" and the "Commander"

-Charger: -1 speed with no upsides BUT you can charge your HP past MAX up to 150

-Commander: -1 speed and -20 HP but with 10% Faster Reload and +5 Max ammo

(The Charger has the LARGEST potential HP and the Commander has the LARGEST Max ammo)

-Joker has been nerfed, he now has a consistent 80 HP

Minor Changes:

-Your screen flashes red for every hit you take

-Shots fired will now have a random pitch applied to them to make the sound less repetitive

-Character Switching sound has been finalized

-Fence sprite now actually looks like a fence

-Ball Men are no longer 65x64 pixels, they are now 64x64 (Like Markus who was the only 64x64 one up until now)

-The red highlight on HUD that shows which character is selected is now transparent and black

-Characters that arent selected will be darkened on the HUD

-Levels now have a fade in and out effect instead of an abrupt change

-Changed the SPECIAL/Energy Kit sound to something better and louder

-HP color has been changed from red to green (however it still turns red when low)

-Your HP is saved between levels and checkpoints

-Your SPECIAL progress is saved between levels and checkpoints

-Markus's SPECIAL no longer causes insane screen shake to improve visibility

-Added Bullet collision sound effects

-There are now unique sound effects for Text Display when:

            -Someone is talking on the radio

            -The game is giving you tips

-You can now see what time it is in-game next to the objective

-Shotgun enemies sprites have been enchaced and animated

-Sniper enemies cloaking ability is now consistent and not random

-Sniper enemies no longer reveal their position when hit

-Sniper enemies deal significantly more damage

-Sniper enemies now ALWAYS die in 2 shots (sometimes before they died either in 3 or 1)

-Classic levels now use healing like in the Major levels

-Passive healing will no longer recover your health to 100% but to 90%

-Passive healing is no longer OP when at extremely low health

-Disabled artificial number inflating in Prolouge shoot-out since 30 kills are now required instead of 40

-Friendly AI will now start following you earlier

-Debug mode can no longer be activated with F9, you now need to hold P+3+F9 together to activate debug mode

-Enemy Agents have recieved the same chasing AI as generic enemies

-New animated main menu buttons

-Pula Man's ultra fire has been nerfed

-Added Forgu as v2.0 Tester into the credits

-Removed Tvrc from Special Thanks

-Rearranged the credits to make it more organised

Mobile Port:

-Discontinued (Useless)

Bug-Fixes:

-Fixed SOM dialouge appearing in SO intro

-You will no longer hear 2 songs playing at the same time while on the final level of UA

-Fixed the Leader of the terrorist being called "master" in some instances

-Dummy Enemies in Prolouge will stop bullets

-Fixed a rare weird interaction Matt would have with walls while his SPECIAL was active

-Fixed bug where you would press invisible mobile buttons on PC

-You can now pause the game in the prolouge solo shootout

-Fixed the Text Box not having a transparent background (It already was in the Beta, we broke it somewhere along the way to release)

-SMG Bullets now stop when colliding with Grenade Launcher enemies (this also stops them from one-shotting them)

-Fixed bug in SO in which the game would crete infinately spawning text boxes after killing the leader

-Fixed bug in SO where assist text box and the first text box would be obstructed by walls

-You can no longer go through certain doors

-After using a chekpoint, you can no longer get duplicate Matt's

-After surviving first level in 2nd War the song will no longer continue playing and overlaping with other music

-Polished up the black van sprite

-Fixed collisions for tables and servers (Credit to Forgu)

-Fixed some trees not casting shadows onto player

-Fixed game crashing if you fail during the 2nd war chapter and LTTP Chapter

-Fixed bug where some next level triggers wouldn't turn the screen black

-Fixed the Heavy firing FASTER than normal when equipped with the sniper

-Fixed some classes not being able to use the "Energy Kit"
